Task: Fit 10 lbs of improvement in a 5 lb budget
The original design called for a 30 ton roof top unit to cool the elevator machine room - the budget didn't. Asked to look at the problem, we confirmed the existing machine room could support two 15 ton units - and so could the budget. Not only were significant cost reductions achieved but the redesign also lowered operating costs and provided redundancy in case of one unit's failure.
